Where should a hospital be located for the best community service?
What is the best route for a garbage truck to pick up garbage in the city?
What is the optimal way to allocate to commercial and government users a limited amount of radio/television spectrum?
Is there a similarity between the DNA sequence for a cancer-causing gene and one that stimulates growth?
Participants:
Mathematics or computer science teachers or supervisors of
grades 9-12, as well as researchers in graph theory.
Activities:
- Engage in a real research experience with practicing mathematicians and computer scientists from arounf the world.
- Take a 2 week course in Graph Theory (a branch of Discrete Mathematics) and earn 6 Graduate Credits.
- Participate in a professional research workshop.
- Develop materials to bring back to your classroom.
APPLICATION DEADLINE is extended to: April 1, 2001
or until all spaces are filled.
