...(LP).
This NSF-funded program has been in operation since 1989, beginning with high school teachers. Middle school and K-8 teachers have joined more recently. Further details on the program can be found in [32]. Suggestions for and comments on resources are gathered at alumni sharing sessions, through email to a group bulletin board, and individual contacts.

...over.
Since separate courses on discrete mathematics don't make much sense at levels K-8, recommendations in this section are primarily from high school teachers; however, middle and elementary school teachers have enjoyed using these texts as resources. At the elementary level, the Everyday Math Program from the Everyday Learning Corp. (Janson), Math Their Way from Creative Publications, or materials from Mimosa Publications can be used to create a mathematics curriculum which incorporates many discrete concepts.

...survey.
The survey was conducted informally using the electronic mailing list TheoryNet, in May 1993. Rosen's book was mentioned by faculty from U. Mass (Amherst), Columbia, U.C. Santa Cruz, U.C. Berkeley, RPI, SUNY Brockport, and U. Kansas. On the other hand, when I (Franzblau) did a similar informal survey of colleagues (mainly in mathematics departments), I found no clear favorite text, though Rosen's book was mentioned favorably [13].

In [30], the author provides examples of applications of discrete topics and discusses how he uses them in the classroom.
