Presented under the auspices of the
Special Year on Computational Molecular Biology.
The growth of both protein sequence and protein structure databases
has had considerable influence on the development of computational and
experimental methods for understanding protein structure. Within this
context, this workshop will focus on:
- How the integration of sequence and structure databases has
changed computational methods for predicting protein
structure
- Structural genomics and high-througput structure determination.
The primary goal of this workshop is to bring together
experimentalists and theoreticians to assess the strengths and
weaknesses of current methods for understanding protein structure, and
brainstorm about how the growing biological databases will influence
development of future methods.
